Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct
This code of conduct identifies the standard of behavior, which is expected of all NBAPC Sport & Recreation participants, including athletes, coaches, chaperones, volunteers, managers and staff.
Participants who fail to abide by this code of conduct may lose the privileges that come with being a member of NBAPC Sport & Recreation Authority, including the opportunity to compete in the future.
Please note that this Code of Conduct will apply and be enforced once the individual has registered to participate and compete at any sporting event, and once the participant has qualified and been selected.
1. Participants are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, fairness and respect.
2. NBAPC Sport & Recreation is committed to providing a sport environment in which all individuals are treated with respect. Participants shall refrain from comments or behaviors, which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or sexist.
3. Participants found under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other banned substance (including energy drinks) before or during an event, or during travel to and/or from any scheduled competitive event, will be disqualified indefinitely from further competition.
4. Adults shall not consume alcohol nor shall they be under the influence of alcohol at any time while they are performing their official duties.
5. There shall be no smoking at all official activities or functions and at competition sites.
6. Participants shall not engage in any activity or behavior which interferes with a competition or with any athlete’s preparation for a competition, or which endangers the safety of others.
7. Incidents involving a member or number of team members may result in the entire team being disqualified.
8. Competition penalties may include: lateness, abuse of officials, illegal players, abuse of opposing team members, damage of facilities, and/or expulsion from competition.
9. Any individual who has been disciplined or disqualified shall have the right to appeal this decision.
Declaration of Participant
I, ______________________________, agree to abide by this Code of Conduct while travelling to, participating at, and returning from any Provincial, National or International event, and/or any competition sanctioned by the NBAPC. I understand that if I do not abide by this Code of Conduct, disciplinary sanctions may be imposed against me.
