Objectives

·        to represent the interests and opinions of the NBAPC Communities in the overall wellness of its community members in three main areas:  athlete development, coaching development and recognition of excellence.

·        to collect and gather information to better meet the sport and recreation needs of Off-Reserve Aboriginal people

·        to provide information to the Community Locals of opportunities related to Sport

·        to organize and facilitate structured sport and recreation activities/teams with trained and qualified coaches and officials

·        to assist in the training and development of athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers to be able to compete in local, regional, provincial, national and international events

·        to enhance the opportunities available for all people to participate, compete and lead in sport and physical activity in an environment that is welcoming and harassment free

·        to work together with community sport, recreation and school groups

·        to increase sport participation across all age groups, genders, and participants of all socio-economic backgrounds

·        to be involved with any provincial Aboriginal sports/games (ie. NAIG, Indian Summer Games, etc), and to eventually host an event of our own

·        to seek out additional funding sources for the development of sport for the NBAPC membership

·        to recognize and promote excellence of Aboriginal athletes, coaches and volunteers
