Notice of Election

Notice is hereby given to the Members of the New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council (Council), as well as any off-reserve Aboriginal person who qualifies for Full Membership in the Council.  An election will be held for the positions of President and Chief and for Vice-Chief of the Council; each position is for a term of two years.

The election will be conducted by Mail-in-Ballot starting on May 1, 2011 and ending on June 11, 2011 @ 12 noon. Anyone wishing to run for the positions of President and Chief and or Vice-Chief must file a Notice of Intent and Nomination forms with the Chief Electoral Officer no later than April 12, 2011 at 12 noon.

All Full Members of the Council will have their name automatically placed on the voter’s list, while any off-reserve Aboriginal who qualifies for Full Membership may apply to have their name added to the voter’s list on the prescribed form no later than April 27, 2011 at 12 noon. Proof of address and ancestry must be provided to the Chief Electoral Officer.
